First, we flew to Copenhagen booking our $4,400 flights using just 40,600 Flying Blue miles and paying just $66 in fees. In Copenhagen, we stayed at a Four Points hotel using 20,000 Marriott points before catching a train to Stockholm where we spent two nights at this World of Hyatt Story Hotel using 24,000 Hyatt points. From there, a $118 overnight ferry brought us to Tallinn, Estonia where we stayed at the Hilton Tallinn Park for 27,000 Hilton Honors points which is really just 13,500 transferable points since these transfer from Amex at a 1:2 ratio. From there, we headed north through Helsinki with an overnight train bringing us to Rovaniemi, Finland inside the Arctic Circle where we spent three nights at the Arctic TreeHouse Hotel searching for the northern lights and spoiler alertโ€ฆthey were even more amazing than I thought they would be! We decided to pay $1,500 in cash for our three nights which was definitely a splurge but they were running a third-night free promo which meant the redemption value wasn't that great but you could book this property during off-peak seasons for as little as 18,000 points per night. From there, we boarded a $591 Finnair flight to Oslo that was booked using 15,000 Alaska miles, booked a hotel in Oslo for free using travel credit on one of our favorite credit cards before beginning the Norway in a Nutshell tour which eventually brought us to Bergen where we stayed at another Hyatt property using 18,000 World of Hyatt points before heading to the most unique accommodation that we've ever stayed at which was $300 in cash but could be covered using points from some programs. Our last night at the airport hotel was just $5 using the rest of that travel credit from earlier and our $1,800 flights home were booked for just 24,000 points and $500 in taxes and fees. All in, our points saved us over $8,000 on this last-minute adventure and if you want all the details, you can check out the full video here because Advertiser Disclosure: Some of the card links and other products that appear on this website are from companies which Daily Drop will earn an affiliate commission or referral bonus.
